Whoooooo! Check it out! Our band just put out this split 7″ with our buddies from Philly , Satanized! No recycling here , these are all unreleased tracks.

Our course , we did the art and it’s screenprinted inside AND out. 4 colours out , 1 in. It’s on Badmaster a cool label from Philadelphia run my our pal John who has set up 2 of the funnest gigs our band has ever played.

^Back Cover.

^Insides. (silver ink. glittery!)

You can buy it here for 4.50$.

Here’s what Badmater says about it w/ collector stats :

BM0021 – Aids Wolf / Satanized Split 7″ — Out Now

Limited to 500  marbled pink 7″es. Two un-released AIDS Wolf tracks & one long Satanized cut, housed in a 5 color silk screened jacket, inside and out, by Seripop.

Wholesalers and distros email badmasterrecords(at)gmail(dot)com for pricing.

Side A. AW- 1. Tango Fatal 2. In And Under The Snow | Side B. STNZD- Hope Is Lack of Information

AIDS Wolf (Montreal) and Satanized (Philadelphia) have joined forces to create a musical document of startling ugliness. The first of two Aids Wolf songs brings to mind a modern Harry Pussy piece or what it might sound like if 3 people with shotgun wounds to the gut were thrown in a pitch black room and left to scamper around looking for an exit that does not exist. (haha, who writes this shit?) The second is classic AIDS Wolf, that could have easily landed on their Cities of Glass LP (**Chloe’s note : it actually was recorded during the same session so there ya go!**). The Satanized side sounds like a 24 hour shift at a steel mill turned mental institution that only employs the criminally insane. Lots of blood everywhere on this one. Brutal sonic violence. Satanized produce a truly great recording that captures everything that makes this band so awe-inspiring in a live setting. This 7″ will leave you holding your lover a little bit closer at night and questioning the morality of bringing a child into this uncaring world. There are some sounds that you can’t unhear… and why would you?

Philadelphia Weekly blogged about it here

It’s been in the works for awhile but 25 of our posters are now part of the permanent collection of The V & A! They will be found in the Prints and Books collection.

We are so excited to be included in such a historically important collection and would like to thank print curator Catherine Flood and librarian Richard Loveday for bringing us into the museum.

Fun fact : The V & A has been actively collecting posters since 1910.

The inclusion of our posters in the V & A , along with our forthcoming Artist Music Journal on our gigposters and record covers will mark a change here at Seripop HQ.

For the past 8 years we’ve been producing screenprinted show posters in astronomical numbers and have gained international acclaim for our poster work. We’re celebrating our achievements and the start of a new decade by slowing down a bit on the gigposters front and placing more our focus on producing art prints , installation work and artist books.

We will still be taking design and illustration commissions as well as screenprinting contracts so please don’t hesitate to hire us. We’ll just be shifting the bulk of our output from posters to art prints and paper sculpture. We are still available to do posters , they will just no longer be the *main* thing we do.

We hope our supporters will be as excited as we are by the new work we have in the pipeline for 2010.

As previously mentioned , we are offering print subscriptions for 2010where subscribers get get one of everything we make this year at a discounted rate and thus help us out with production costs of our upcoming installations.

Here’s another contest , this one set up by our friend Lee Shepard of Pilot Magazine . We had Lee as a judge for our photo contest and now it’s time to pay the piper.
Pilot is a great pocket book sized literary magazine out of Toronto. We’ve teamed up with them in the past , and were interviewed by Lee in issue #5. Issue 5 also contains of bunch of our illustrations as well as portfolio. They might have called it the Seripop issue but they didn’t. Oh well. Pilot also do a print subscription that we took part in. In fact , it’s the art from the print subscription they want people to write a story about.

Check out the contest details here and do us proud!

In other news we still have 7 out of our original 13 subscription sets available – we do payment plans so what the heck are you waiting for?

Here some behind-the-scenes picks of us at work on our newest mural piece at the 100 Sided Die . We’re going to be installing it at Friendship Cove , our favorite DIY venue in Montreal and in a few of our upcoming gallery shows.

We hope everyone out in internetland had awesome holidays! We’re hard at work on a new series of prints right now that will make up the first part of the Seripop 2010 Subscription Set. They are the most ambitious prints we’ve ever made (lots of layers whoooo!) and have been in the works for awhile. We still have 8 subscriptions available if you wanna get everything we make this year.
Thanks for all your support in 2009 , happy new year year everyone!

It’s cold out , don’t go outside. Instead watch some wonderfully wacky handmade animated films by Montreal’s Amy Lockheart :
